Hello! My name is Thomas and I am a recent B.A. Music graduate from Trinity College Dublin (TCD). I am able to deliver a wide-ranging and assured level of music tuition, be it from a practical or theoretical perspective.
My final degree was awarded a high 1st Class Honours classification - I am a recipient of a TCD Gold Medal, and recipient of several other TCD Music prizes (Taylor Entrance Exhibition Award, Stewart & Prout prize, Mahaffy Memorial prize, and Geoffrey Singleton prize). At Music GCSE Level I placed 1st nationally (CCEA, Northern Ireland), and at Music A-Level placed 2nd nationally (CCEA, Northern Ireland).
I am first and foremost a practical musician. I have a wealth of both orchestral and choral experience (Trinity Orchestra, Ulster Youth Orchestra, City of Belfast Youth Orchestra, Campanile Consort, Mornington Singers), performing under professional musical direction in a variety of venues (Ulster Hall, Grand Opera House Belfast, Christchurch Cathedral), from which I have developed a broad knowledge of both classical-orchestral and alternative repertoire.
Aside form offering lessons in Flute, Piano, and Music Theory (ABRSM or RIAM), my musical leadership and education lies primarily within group settings, as a choral director / conductor. I worked with singers between the ages of 18 and 23, encompassing varying stages of vocal / choral experience, from beginner to professionally trained.
Including my B.A., I hold the following qualifications:
ABRSM Level 4 Dip. in Music Performance (ARSM) in Flute (Dist.) /// ABRSM Grade 7 in Piano (Dist.) /// ABRSM Grade 7 in Music Theory
