I teach Piano, Music Theory and Traditional Irish Music (Banjo/Fiddle).

I take students interested in learning piano from the age of 5. Young beginners start with musicianship and introduction to the keyboard. They develop their musical understanding and motor skills through movement, song and fun activities. This gives them a strong foundation before the move to individual piano tuition..

I continue to include technique, practical theory and creative music making at all levels so students get as broad a musical education as possible. I follow a comprehensive progressive curriculum so exams are not necessary to reach an advanced level. Students who choose to do exams have plenty of choice, as I can prepare them for any of the main Exam Boards.

All lesson plans (including the type of pieces being studied) are based on the needs and goals of the individual student. This also works well for Adults returning to the piano who may have some gaps in their musicianship they would like to focus on. Adult beginners are also welcome.

I have been teaching since 2010.

Qualifications : Dip LCM (Piano Performance), Dip LCM (Teaching), TTCT (Diploma in teaching traditional music).
